COURSE OFFERINGS FOR DEEP

DEEP, Distance Education Extended programs, is the outreach program to K-12 educators housed at NCSSM. A curriculum guide is available which outlines the course offerings. This division of NCSSM distance learning offers a hands-on, one day lab session led through a video conference originating at NCSSM.

In addition to these individual laboratory experiences, Carole Stern, the DEEP outreach specialist, indicates there are in-depth single, semester-long and two course, year-long offerings to high school juniors and seniors (Stern, 2012).

Professional learning opportunities are offered both through video conferencing at one of the distance learning hubs as well as at the Durham campus over the summer (NCSSM deep, 2012).
